Access Electric specializes in the installation, termination and testing for tight-buffered indoor and outdoor fiber optic cable. When you are ready to install fiber optic cabling in your facility please consider the following items:
If you have questions about what type of fiber optic cabling you need or where to begin, please don’t hesitate to give us a call and we will assist you in choosing just the right cable for your specific needs.
If you would like to wire up a new network, or just make changes to you existing wired network, we can assist with installing Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a installations.
Cat5e remained the standard for LAN networks throughout most of the last 20 years. It was a great upgrade from the former coax and twinaxel cables that preceeded it and continues to be one of the most installed network cable today. Cat5e provides network speeds of 10/100/1000 Mbps at up to 100 MHz of bandwidth.
Cat6 installations are beginning to really take over in the current LAN wiring environment offering higher speeds at more than twice the bandwidth of Cat5e. Cat6 cable is capable of delivering up to 10Gbps of speed, although is limited at these higher speeds to shorter distances of up to 37 meters as opposed to the traditional 100 meters.
Cat6a Cabling offers similar speeds as Cat6a but at twice the bandwidth. Able of communication rates of 10Gbps at a bandwidth of 500 Mhz. Cat6a also eliminates the 10Gbps distance restrictions caused by Cat6 and can communicate at these high speeds for a distance of 100 meters.
We would be happy to help you decide which cable or option is best suited for your network.
If you would like to test the speed and reliability of your fiber or copper network, contact us and we can schedule an appointment to run testing on some or all of your network fiber and copper network cables.
